2022 Governor’s Business Plan Contest: Ideas from 17 of the 26 finalists

Twenty-six entries representing sectors such as health care, cleantech, education, software and innovations in products or services are competing in the finalist round of the 19th annual Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest. Learn a little more about the ones familiar to us!

  • Badger Dental Products of Madison, addressing emergency dental trauma
  • Betterbin of Kronenwetter, providing product-specific composting instructions based on where you live through a technology-based app
  • ChloBis Water of Madison, providing an innovative and energy-efficient solution to address challenges at the intersection of the water-energy nexus with a new desalination battery
  • CompRex of La Crosse, specializing in the design, engineering and manufacturing of compact heat exchangers and heat exchange reactors targeted for high temperature and pressure applications
  • Contrast Dynamics of Verona, developing technology to image as well as measure and quantify the velocity of blood flow in blood vessels
  • CrossKudi of Wauwautosa, reinventing cross-border money transfer and creating a new financial economy for stakeholders globally
  • FANTM of Madison, developing next-generation wearable human-computer interfaces that enable users to interact with digital systems using gesture and motion in AR, VR and more
  • Fleet Cycles of Monona, shifting the mobility paradigm by developing a bike and platform to fit the specific purpose of their customers
  • Flux XII of Madison, developing a unique flow battery chemistry based on stable, sustainable, and low-cost organic compounds
  • Gud Medical of Madison, striving to be a leader in precisely delivering medicine and intravenous fluid
  • HeyGov of Sturgeon Bay, transforming local government through a suite of digital tools
  • Hoplon of Mequon, creating a catheter-based system to restore the function of a LVAD (left ventricular assist device) without the need for invasive surgery
  • Inspired Together Learning of Madison, training teachers to better support and be effective mentors to new teachers through curriculum and resources to save them time
  • My Hearing Care of Milwaukee, developing an over-the-counter hearing aid that makes better hearing more accessible and more affordable for people suffering from mild to moderate hearing loss
  • Phaxtec of Middleton, producing sustainable and natural material solutions with PHA (Polyhydroxyalkanoates) trade marked PHAX® for food service packaging, agriculture and personal care
  • Rapid Radicals Technology of Milwaukee, creating a rapid, decentralized wastewater treatment system that can treat water 16 times faster than conventional treatment
  • Trilliens of Milwaukee, providing IT services and consulting to protect life and property

What’s next? Finalists will submit a 15-minute pitch deck for review by a panel of about 75 judges. In late May, the “Diligent Dozen,” aka the top 12, will be chosen. On June 1-2, they will present at the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference, where winners will be announced live!
